Extra Buzzzz, Vol. 3

Extra Buzz is the word on the street from credible sources. Part of the fun is guessing!

*** So the Hough slate is lined up for District 4. Republican primary voters can likely expect Hough’s wife, and former chair of the local central committee, JoeyLynn Hough, Del. Barry Ciliberti, and newcomer Jesse Pippy. Pippy is the former chair of the Frederick County Young Republicans and a member of the Frederick County Liquor Board. They will be pitted against veteran and business owner Danny Fararr and Del. David Vogt. Vogt’s relationship with the Hough Dynasty must’ve hit the skids.

***Along the lines of who’s running for what, expect some announcements soon in the Frederick City race. Word is one potential mayoral candidate has sent out mailers inviting supporters to a Jan. 6 announcement.

The Blaine Young balloon was floated, and he popped it. But don’t be so sure of that one. And then there’s former Alderman Shelly Aloi. She gave Mayor Randy McClement a few smacks in the 2013 primary. It’s hard to run against the incumbent when you’ve just served in his administration, so will this absence make Frederick fonder of Aloi, should she toss in? Or will voters have filed her with yesterday’s news? Aloi’s never boring. I’ll give her that.

***As for the multitudes mulling the County Executive race in two years, here’s another name to toss on the pile: Eric Beasley said on his blog in A Miner Detail that he was forming an exploratory committee for a run at the county’s top job. Then he ruined later, calling exploratory committees the political equivalent of "hold my beer."

Politics is strange, eh?
