Call Warned CHS About Student

More details emerge about the student taken out of Catoctin High School in Thurmont yesterday. A senior at CHSl was removed from school Friday after the school received a call from a "concerned community member," according to Michael Doerrer, spokesman for Frederick County Public Schools.

The student, an 18-year-old woman, was removed from the school Friday for making a threat, according to FCPS. The student is currently hospitalized and will be served with a warrant upon her release, according to sources.

Doerrer said from the school’s perspective, everything worked the way it is supposed to, starting with a community member calling the school to warn administrators about the student’s behavior. “As soon as they did that, the school administration jumped into action with law enforcement and immediately removed that student,” Doerrer said.

More details to come at The Frederick Extra as the story unfolds.
