Student charged, remains in jail

Nicole Cevario was released from Frederick Memorial Hospital at 9 a.m. Friday morning, and taken into custody by detectives, according to a press release from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

A senior at Catoctin High School in Thurmont, Cevario was allegedly gathering weapons and explosive materials to build a bomb, and planned to carry out an attack at the school on April 5, according to police.

Cevario was served with outstanding arrest warrants, and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. The 18-year-old was later taken in front of a District Court Commissioner and committed on no bond, meaning Cevario cannot be released from jail until a bail amount is set.

Cevario is being charged with: 1) Possession of explosive material with intent to create a destructive device, and 2) Possession of incendiary material with the intent to create a destructive device. [Cevario's mug shot above provided by Sheriff's Office]
