Frederick City Mayoral Debate Aug. 21


The only Frederick city mayoral primary debate is scheduled from 7-9:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21 in the JBK Theater at Frederick Community College. Sponsored by The Frederick Extra, Frederick Magazine, FCC's Phi Theta Kappa, and 930 AM WFMD, with host Bob Miller, WFMD’s morning talk show host. 930 WFMD Free Talk will be live streaming the debate on its Facebook page. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Democratic candidates Jennifer Dougherty and Michael O’Connor will debate between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Following a brief intermission, Republican candidates Shelley Aloi and Randy McClement will take the stage at 8:15 p.m. Guy Fletcher, editor of Frederick Magazine, Kevin McManus of WFMD, and Gina Gallucci-White, reporter for The Frederick Extra, will be asking the questions.

Candidates are invited to bring campaign materials and set up in the lobby of the theater. Early voting for the city primary is Aug. 25 and 26. The primary election is Sept. 12. For more information on the city election, visit here.
